The PMOCafe has one aim: to unite management professionals from around the globe with a view to exchanging knowledge and experiences to help us all better manage projects or operations to the best of our ability. The site features
- a social networking facility to allow users to network easily
- forums to initiate and contribute to discussions
- a Lessons Learned Database
- a facility that allows users to publish articles on management topics, sharing their experiences with other users
The Lessons Learned Database is something that many larger organisations already have and it should be the first stop for any Project Manager when undertaking a new project. Here they can find out if
- a similar type of project was undertaken previously. If it was did it succeed or fail? What were the reasons for this?
- are there any other projects running that could benefit from this project? Are there shared goals or crossovers?
Here at MAGMA Solutions we do not think that only the larger companies should benefit from such critical knowledge. The Lessons Learned Database at the PMOCafe will allow every management professional who joins to enter their own lessons learned as well as learn from those of their peers. It could be the most important tool you have added to your armoury for years.
The PMOCafe is set to launch in early March 2010. If you would like to be informed of progress please use the Contact page to let us know. Simply input your name, email address and have the subject as ‘PMOCafe’ and we will keep you up to date with developments.
The PMOCafe is for us all. See you there.
